Daylight Savings
As of 2007, Daylight Saving Time begins in the United States on the second Sunday of March and concludes on the first Sunday of November. During the warmer months, clocks are advanced so that darkness falls later.
Daylight Saving Time also changes the names and acronyms used for local time in each zone. Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), Mountain Standard Time (MST) becomes Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), and so on.

Exceptions to the US clock change rules
Arizona (except the Navajo Indian Reservation), Puerto Rico, Hawaii, the US Virgin Islands, and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Saving Time.
When is daylight saving in 2026?
- Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 A.M. Clocks move forward by one hour.
- Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 A.M. Clocks move back one hour.
How many time zones are there in the US?
The United States and its dependents are legally divided into nine time zones. Adding the time zones of two uninhabited US territories, Howland Island and Baker Island, raises the total number of time zones to 11.
